Kasey Stewart attains Specialist Accreditation in Family Law

Mason Lawyers is thrilled to announce that our Senior Family Lawyer Kasey Stewart has attained Specialist Accreditation in Family Law.

Specialist Accreditation is more than simply gaining a lot of experience in a particular area of law. Specialist Accreditation is a structured peer to peer assessment process enabling legal practitioners to be recognised for their expertise. Each year the Law Society of NSW runs the accreditation program for a select number of areas of law. The program consists of meticulous assessments on both legal knowledge and its application in practice. For accreditation to be conferred the candidate must pass all assessments.

Kasey said of the accreditation:

I am proud to attain my Specialist Accreditation in Family Law. Specialist Accreditation is a recognised mark of expertise for the public and the profession and is a reflection of my commitment to ensuring I provide the highest possible quality of family law advice and support to my clients.”

As well as achieving this rigorous accreditation, Kasey was also appointed as an ICL (Independent Children’s Lawyer) in June of this year. ICLs are tasked with acting on behalf of children in parenting proceedings. ICLs are appointed by the court in family law proceedings to ensure that a child’s voice is heard, and their rights and interests are protected.

Kasey first started practicing law in Darwin as a general practice lawyer, where her love of Family Law was sparked. When she returned to the Hunter region in 2009, she began working for Thomas Mitchell Solicitors, which was later incorporated by Mason Lawyers, and practiced exclusively as a family lawyer. She is proud of the work she has done for her clients over the years and has received some wonderful feedback as a result.

Director of Mason Lawyers Ross Mason said:

“Kasey Stewart is an asset to the profession. Her extensive experience and balanced, caring, approach ensure clients are given the best possible advice and course to help them move on with their lives.”

NSW Law Society Specialist Accreditation Chair, Jacqueline Dawson, said:

Specialist Accreditation is held by less than 5% of the profession here in New South Wales. Specialist Accreditation is a rigorous process and getting accredited is just the start. When a specialist retains their accreditation year on year their clients know the value of the advice they receive.

Kasey’s legal knowledge and practical skill is recognised by her successful resolution of family law matters and her satisfied clients. A happy client contacted our office to congratulate Kasey on her accreditation as a family law specialist and said:-

“Thank you for updating me on one of your valuable employees who I had the pleasure to assist me and my mother at a time of distress. Kasey is not only a professional lawyer but a caring compassionate understanding woman. My mother and I will forever be grateful for her services to us and congratulate her on her achievements.”

Kasey looks forward to using her specialist knowledge and skill to assist clients and as an ICL in family law matters. If you need a family lawyer, you can book an appointment online, or contact us.
